Practical information

Travel and public transport

Ljubljana is well connected by train and international bus lines (Flixbus and others). The main bus and train station is in the city centre.

Ljubljana has its own airport, which is connected by bus to the city centre.

Other possible airports, which are not far away and are connected with Ljubljana mostly by GoOpti shuttle transport, are: Zagreb, Trieste, Venezia, Treviso and Graz.

Passengers wanting to ride Ljubljana city buses of the Ljubljana public transportation company (LPP) can use a Mastercard or Visa card to pay for their fare on the bus, but only the Urbana city card or app will still allow them to change buses for free: https://sloveniatimes.com/40028/ljubljana-city-buses-now-take-bank-cards.
